Weddings, Life, Health, Random Updates, Ect!

My cousin got married this summer!

It was the first wedding I've ever been in.

God blessed me with good health on this day!

We had such a wonderful time together.

The memories will last forever<3

There's nothing like sculpting a hammer head shark in the sand.

There was no way to get the shark's fin very tall and thin, unless of course, you are working with sand that defies gravity!

Speaking of sharks, we went shark teeth hunting several times this summer.

I didn't actually find this megaladon tooth, but one day, I hope to travel to a river where you can actually find prehistoric shark teeth this big.

We celebrated the 4th of July!

I'm currently working on several video projects about my healthy rotation diet.

I'm hoping it will be of some help to other people living with chronic illness and food intolerance issues.

Nothing like a plate of veggies, avocados, and quinoa!

I'm currently going through the book "Nourishing Traditions" for like the 3rd time now, and by George, I think I've got it! It was beyond words OVERWHELMING in the beginning, but now, it's coming to me like second nature, praise God!

It has stormed ALOT this summer...

I've been playing chess alot this summer too.

The new member of our family (cat), is making herself quite at home, and Sassy doesn't seem to mind.

Sassy learned a new trick, to "sit pretty.":)

Even though I'm improving with my health, I'm still chronically ill. So, this past summer, I've been working really hard on various creative, serious, informative, realistic, and encouraging videos to bring awareness to invisible illnesses.

Sometimes the emotional and physical pain of living with a chronic illness can really get to me, so making videos has been a "healing" way for me to channel my pain.

God has recently led me to a new doctor, where cases like mine are her specialty. I saw her today, and I have hope that my life could change for the better, because she knows how to help me. I've had SOOOO many doctors blow me off in the past, where as, this doctor just gets me.

I will be having various tests done (blood tests, tests through IVs, ect) in the next month or two, so I would really, really appreciate any prayers!

As I rode home from my appointment today, I felt overwhelmed and started crying. Then I turned the radio on and heard, "I will not fear the storm. My help is on the way. O my God, He will not delay! My refuge and strength, always. I will not fear; His promise is true. My God will come through always!<3 Song by- Kristian Stanfill

So glad to see you back! I missed your blog during the summer.

Hope this doctor helps you figure out more ideas of what could be going on so you can get back to a normal life!

Quick question. When you were diagnosed with Celiac did you have the bloodwork-Celiac panel-done? If so, did you have follow-up bloodwork and did it show you anything? I ask because, when I was originally diagnosed almost a year ago, my TTG was 40 which the GI doctor said was very high. I had it run a few weeks ago again and it was 52. I'm eating as gluten free as I know how, eating only food my mom or I cook in our kitchen. I'm at a loss for what could have caused it and my doctor said nothing but that the number was high. I was just wondering if you had read anything or personaly experienced anything that might help. I've searched online, but to no avail, I find so many conflicting opinions I can't tell what's right.

Thanks!
Emily

Emily,

Thanks for your comment and question! I did have the Celiac bloodwork done and it showed I have the Celiac gene. I've read that getting blood tested for Celiac disease is only 50% accurate, but I'm not sure. It also showed my antibody levels were really high.

Anyway, I could have had a biopsy, but according to my doc, if you have the gene, that means you have a 60% chance or more of having Celiac Disease. The real test ofcourse, is to go gluten free.

Going gluten free cleared up all of my autoimmune issues (it took a LOOONG time though), but my autonomic nervous system is still somewhat damaged. Nervous system issues are very common with Celiac Disease.

Healing from all of this has taken SO long. I eat a really strict healthy, gluten free diet too, but I'm still not 100% better.

So, from what I've read from your comment, going gluten free hasn't been helpful? Also, do you take any herbs, supplements? And, are you sensitive to other foods or just gluten?

Getting gluten out of my system greatly helped, but I had to clear up a lot of other food sensitivity issues as well, before I really started noticing a difference in my health.

Anyway, please feel free to write me anytime! I hope I can be of some help, and I really hope you are able to get better!

In Christ,
Ashleigh
